 Headquartered in Sacramento, California, Controlled Access Consultants is the leader in design, manufacture, installation and repair of high quality steel and wrought iron fences, gates, railing, doors and access control systems in Northern California.


Controlled Access Consultants was founded in 1971 by Mark Eveleth.  The Company originated in Burbank, California as J&E Ironworks; where they began construction and installation of fences, gates and other iron structures. In 1981 the company moved to Sacramento and primarily sub-contracted for others. In 1990, they began to focus on the core business:  custom iron fence, gates and access control systems, specifically for commercial and apartment complexes and residential gated communities.


Incorporated in 1997 by Mark and Pam Eveleth, the company was expanded to include a dedicated service department for the access control systems.  In 2000, a Service Manager was hired to maintain that department which presently includes 5 dedicated technicians. With the acquisition of Ornamental Iron Outlet in 2009, and the halt of new real estate development; the company expanded into residential work to include decorative entry gates, access control, pool enclosures, window guards, patio railings and security doors for single family homes and retail establishments.  The companies currently employ 27 people working in service, fabrication, installation, consulting and estimating, clerical and administration departments.

Fully licensed, bonded and insured (CSLB licenses for Fencing; Ornamental Metals; Doors, Gates and Activating Devices), Controlled Access Consultants  offers a one-stop-shop for controlled entry systems, design and custom fabrication, above and below ground construction and installation, complete electronics, cameras, sensor loops and electrical, transmitters and openers, and maintenance and repairs.  Maintenance contracts are offered and 24/7 emergency services are available.  The lead technicians are “Certified Gate Operator Installers“, by the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA) and continually update their certification through educational seminars.  All employees are kept current on OSHA safety training on a weekly and quarterly basis.
